Skincare Tuesday: Jade Roller

January 3, 2017

Hello my Loves,

Happy New year! I hope everyone had a great Christmas and Holiday season! This Christmas was super fun because my daughter is almost 3 and it was so fun creating new Christmas traditions with her. On the 23rd my husband, my daughter, and I ordered food in, made cookies and frosted them together with hot chocolate and of course so many Christmas movies! We had a blast! Saturday the 24th, we spent it with my husband’s family which was so sweet and fun. Then Sunday we spent it at church with my entire big Middle Eastern family seeing my daughter sing in the children’s choir. Afterwards we went to my parents house and had our traditional Christmas dinner. New Years Eve was also a blast spending it with family and friends! With so many laughs and people around that love you, who needs gifts?

But if we on the subject let’s just say, Santa hooked it up this year!

Then there is those Pesky New Years Resolutions! Is it sad that I feel every year I have the same resolutions? ughhh, same old lose weight, enjoy the little moments, travel more, blah blah but by May they are long forgotten!I bought 300,000 different calendars and planners to help keep me organized and on track. Wish me luck!!!

Anyways moving on to out main topic today which is: Jade Roller
A couple posts down I wrote a post about facial massages and how important and beneficial it is for the skin. Through researching for that post I discovered Jade Rollers. Naturally I was intrigued, so I ordered a couple of rollers to test them out for myself.

Jade Rollers have become recently popular in US beauty culture but they have been around for a long time and were typically used by wealthy Chinese. Jade stones have long been praised for its healing properties. I am someone who has struggled with dark under eye circles my entire life. I seriously look sick without makeup. Even with makeup I am using 2-3 different concealers just to brighten my under eyes up. So you know when I saw that Jade rollers help with under eye circles I was allllllllllll over that! However that is not its only benefits.

Jade Rollers also help many issues including:
promoting lymphatic drainage
helping with detox and eliminating toxins
reducing puffiness
reducing wrinkles
helping with under eye circle improving blood circulation
improving elasticity of the skin
helping tighten pores and brighten skin.

How to do it?

I always apply some sort of serum or moisturizer before rolling because rolling help products penetrate skin more efficiently.

For your eyes: All you do is apply eye cream or serum then roll smaller end of roller under your eyes; starting from inner eye all the way to temple apply a light to medium pressure. I also roll it upward, to help with any puffiness.

For your face: Again start with applying your serum or moisturizer then using the bigger part of roller, roll from corner of your nose out towards ears and jaw. Then from your chin to jaw. Always roll outward. For your forehead, roll upward. For you neck, roll down. I do this for about 10 minutes or so depending on how much time I have.

I also put my jade roller in the fridge to keep it extra cold to keep it extra refreshing.

The result:

You guys, I am really loving this!! It’s seriously so refreshing and I’ve seen such a difference in my skin and underlies. I feel like my skin is brighter and smoother. My underlies are not as puffy or as dark as they used to be and its only been a couple of months of Jade rolling! I really recommend this for anyone looking for a DIY facial lymphatic massage, help with under eye issues, and brightening skin.
